CAN YOU CAN?
Ever wonder what to do with that left over corn on the cob, or the
zucchini your neighbor keeps giving you? In these economic times everyone
is looking for ways to save money. One way may be to freeze or can
your own fruits and vegetables. On Monday August 11th from 1:30-3:00
, Lori Barker will be at the Center to give you tips on canning, freezing
and making jelly.
She will display some of her finished
products and there will be a sampling of one of them. Call the
Center to sign up for this informative demonstration 468-3093.

Knitters Network
Join our knitters- crafters during regular meeting times—2nd and 4th

our projects.
The RSVP Doll Project is looking for the
following donated items: children’s books, crocheted and sewn items, toys,
games, school supplies, bed blankets, and gently used dolls. For
more information call the Center 468-3093. We will help you get

To the ladies of the Knitters Network:
Thank you very much for the wool helmet liners. It is incredibly
thoughtful of you to make these to send over. Right now it is very
hot over here, well over 100 degrees, but they will be much appreciated
come winter.
I am one of the 16 Vermonters from the
Vermont National Guard over here in Afghanistan. We are in the
western region near the Iranian border. All of the Vermonters are
doing well and doing a great job over here. Thanks Again.
Sincerely,
Patrik Viljanen

P.S. Both my sister and I
graduated from Castleton State College. We both have great memories
of the area. |
