Lake Bomoseen, a 6-mile lake, is a popular retreat for swimmers,

in the foothills of West-Central Vermont, Castleton has lent itself to
a little piece of history. Castleton State College was founded
in 1787 and is the oldest college in Vermont. In fact, it's one
of the oldest in New England. The college offers outstanding
sporting events, concerts, and cultural events open to the general
public.
