Button Systems developed a web site
for the town of Castleton, Vermont. This comprehensive site contains a
variety of information about the town including news and events, local
businesses, history, photos, and more. It is intended to give web
browsers from all over the world a glimpse of what Castleton has to
offer. Thousands of people have visited the web site over the past few
years. In essence, the web site is a web-based brochure about Castleton.
The site contains other important
features such as school information, information about surrounding
communities, and is a part of the national Amber Alert network. The web
site combines an attractive graphic theme with an easy-to-use
navigational structure. The site is informative and aesthetically
pleasing. This site has been honored by HometownUSA, receiving its
Silver Community award for excellence. This site can be visited at
http://www.castletonvt.com.

Button Systems also maintains web
sites for many of the area artisans. The Farrow Gallery is one of these
sites. The site provides a tour into the works of Patrick Farrow and his
art. The site itself is simple in design, intended to let the artwork
stand out and speak for itself.
Navigation is performed in a series of
recurrent hyperlinks, allowing a viewer to view pages within the site
without the need for using the buttons within their web browser. Each
piece of artwork is displayed in a series of clickable thumbnails. As
each thumbnail is clicked, the full-size image and detailed information
about the given piece is shown. This layout is similar to those used by
on-line catalogs. This site can be visited at
http://www.farrowgallery.com.

Another of the real estate web sites
that Button Systems designed and maintains is for Gilbert Realty and
Development. This site contains detailed photos and information about
the properties listed for sale. It also includes the actual fact sheets
used by MLS and other realtor services in PDF document format (requires
Adobe Acrobat to be installed of the viewer’s computer).
The site uses a frame structure, with
a menu constantly available that makes navigation simple. The site uses
the same color scheme as their other marketing pieces. This site can be
visited at

Button Systems recently developed a
web-based parts order entry system for Kalow Technologies. This web site
allows a Sealed Air Corporation sales rep to order replacement parts for
a machine from anywhere in North America. It also contains schematic
drawings for the machines in which parts can be ordered for. This site
is login-based with a user name and password required upon entry.
The parts that are ordered on the web
site are periodically downloaded and processed by Kalow personnel into a
companion back-office system (not web-based) that we developed. From
there, order status information is processed and uploaded back to the
web site. This allows the sales rep to track the part that they ordered.
Furthermore, the rep can track any part shipped with UPS using an
automated interface into UPS’ own tracking web site. The rep may also
look at other orders depending on their access level.
The web site is divided into two
classifications of processing – user level and administrator level.
User-level represents the sales reps and other users who would order
parts, view schematics, or run inquiries about their orders.
Administrators have additional options that are used to maintain the
usage and functionality of the web site such as user maintenance, site
statistics reporting, and more.

One of the more interesting web sites
that Button Systems has developed is for the Lake Bomoseen Association.
This site combines the standard HTML technology used for web site design
with some complex Java scripting to provide a comprehensive menu-driven
navigational structure.
The site contains a wide variety of
information about Lake Bomoseen and the Association’s members. The
majority of viewers of this site are members of the LBA. Because of the
variety and different degrees of information available, frames are used
only when necessary. The site uses a color scheme that is meant to be
pleasing but not detracting from the information conveyed. This site can
be visited at
http://www.lakebomoseenassociation.org.

MDF Systems of Bristol, Connecticut
came to Button System to develop an on-line registration system to be
used in coordination with Wiremold, one of their customers. This system
allows a user to enter information about a particular type of
registration card.
Entering the data is done in two ways.
The first way requires a user to log into the site to enter in
registration cards. Another method allows a Wiremold user to log in to
the system directly using parameterized information within a hyperlink.
This information is validated and added to the login system as
necessary, eliminating the login steps that non Wiremold users go
through.
The web site is divided into two
classifications of processing – user level and administrator level.
User-level represents users who would enter the registration cards.
Administrators have additional options that are used to maintain the
usage and functionality of the web site such as user maintenance, card
type and business type maintenance, and more.

The Vermont Health Record is the most
complex web site ever developed by Button Systems. The Vermont Program
for Quality in Health Care asked Button Systems to develop a new web
site to allow physicians and other health care professionals to maintain
a registry of patients with diabetes or cardiovascular diseases. This
web site combines HTML, ASP, and JavaScript technology.
The site contains comprehensive, yet
easy-to-use, data entry forms that store information about a patient and
their subsequent visit information or lab tests performed. Navigation
within the site is done using a main menu with various navigation
buttons, as well as buttons found on the bottom of many of the data
entry forms. The site uses a simple color scheme as well.
The data stored within this site
serves as the basis for over 80 different real-time reports that are
available. As data is entered and saved in the system, it is available
in many of these reports. The remainder of these reports uses data that
is updated periodically as needed. Some of these reports incorporate
line graphs, a feature not readily available in standard web sites. Some
also incorporate programming that generates results in an Excel
spreadsheet. The web site also contains a discussion forum. This allows
users and administrators to communicate with each other about the usage
and functionality of the site, as well as ways to improve it.
The web site is divided into two
classifications of processing – user level and administrator level.
User-level represents the physicians and healthcare personnel who would
enter patient, visit, and lab information or run the various reports
available. Administrators have additional options that are used to
maintain the usage and functionality of the web site such as user
maintenance, database maintenance, and more.
Finally, the web site also offers
additional tools and documents to the general public without the need to
log in. This site can be viewed at
https://www.vermonthealthrecord.com.

The Vermont Program for Quality in
Health Care asked Button Systems to develop a new site for peer review.
This site contains a series of Word or PDF documents that provide a user
with detailed information about agreements and other tools regarding
peer review.
In addition, the site incorporates a
reviewer search by specialty. This allows the user to view a list of
peers within a given specialty. This listing contains the name and
location of any reviewing physician matching the specialty selected.
This web site can be viewed at
https://www.vpqpeerreview.org.
